Flourburglar

I thought I would never hear anything like this — but then again I shouldn’t have been suprised.  Two men were arrested Thursday morning who “face felony grand larceny charges in connection with the alleged theft of nearly $2,000 worth of baking flour from Horizon Milling at the Port of Albany.”  Franklin Johnson and David Barna are the two suspects.  I cannot believe this, what have people really come to.  The best part is that the company believes there is up to “tens of thousands of dollars” of stolen flour.  Yes — I said flour.

I understand this is a serious matter of grand larceny but seriously who steals flour and Detective James Miller said that “they may have been reselling it.”  That’s great, I can picture two 40 year old men selling flour on the street corner.  I didn’t know there was such a high demand for… flour.  Do people get high on flour?  Unless I’m missing the whole point of this article?  Is ‘flour’ a code word for some type of drug?

The article then goes on to tell us about the editor of the trade magazine Milling & Baking news, Josh Sosland, tells us the prices of flour.  I know this is a serious article but they really are assuming that these two guys were re-selling the flour.  I cannot believe what people will do to make some money.
